Among the presentations given to the July 2016 International Conference on Men’s Issues in London was a speech on the justice gender gap delivered by Conservative MP, Philip Davies.
Despite the backlash he has received (including calls to suspend him as an MP), the facts are on his side regarding gender discrimination in the criminal justice system. He is the only MP speaking out on this issue or indeed on any issues affecting men and boys in the UK. He has spoken about how difficult it is to take a contrary line to the prevailing orthodoxy. His example is a headline for other politicians to follow.
Another notable event at the conference was the speech of Professor Janice Fiamengo, University of Ottawa, on the influence of ideology on Canadian Universities.
